Innisfree (spelled here with only one
'n' ). Find Knocknarea (Mountain of
the Moon) where Liffey Rivers
discovers a shocking fact. Yeats'
grave is also marked. Look at the
coast. The Spanish Armada had a
horrible ship wreck here and lost 3
ships. Over 1,000 men died. Only a
few sailors escaped alive. They were
either killed by English troops, eaten
by wolves (no kidding) or escaped to
Ulster. There is a memorial to the
sailors there. Creevykeel is the site of
a famous court tomb. Carrowmore
and Carrowkeel are two of the four
large stone age cemeteries in Ireland.
